HyperBook / Caesar 6 is translation software designed to provide users with a comprehensive set of translation tools in one convenient location. The program simplifies the task of translating by providing users with the resources they need to complete translations quickly and accurately.
The latest upgrade of the HyperBook passages to version 3.0 now comes in an upgraded HTML format, thanks to John Thorburn from Baylor University. With this format, users can have access to a wide range of modules, including the complete Catullus poems (1-116), the entire second book of Vergil's Aeneid, and Caesar's Bellum Gallicum VI.11-44.
Additionally, the software provides dictionary listings that are linked to every word in the text to enable users to easily access useful commentary on grammatical, literary, and historical issues. Other helpful references that can be accessed via drop-down menus include timelines of the authors' lives, chapters on scansion and figures of speech, and paradigm charts for declensions and conjugations.
The new HTML format of the HyperBook allows users to view it both online and offline, using a web browser. HyperBook has specific requirements for installation, including 32 MB RAM, any processor that supports OS X, and 2-4 MB hard drive space for each program. In conclusion, with its broad range of helpful resources, the HyperBook software is a must-have for anyone who is interested in learning Latin.
