iBarGraph is a software tool that displays the data transfer capacity on an ISDN line via a graph for easy understanding.
Before installing ibargraph, it is necessary to have the following requirements: LCDProc with an attached bar graph, and a functioning isdn4linux subsystem. Please note that ibargraph will not work with capi4linux.
The installation process for ibargraph is simple. If the LED bar is connected properly to the parallel port and LCD, users just need to call 'make' and run the resulting program. However, if there are any issues or strange results with the LED bar, users can modify the program by checking how the bar graph is mounted and controlled. This process involves opening a telnet connection to 'localhost:1366', sending specific commands, and making modifications in the ibargraph.c file.
There are limitations to ibargraph, including that it only supports the HD44780 extended/lcdtime display driver, and the LED bar must be attached, which renders the backlight switching unusable. Additionally, users may need to modify the program to assign the proper output lines to the LEDs as no configuration is available.
Overall, ibargraph is a useful tool for those who need to monitor their ISDN line throughput. In the latest release, handling of multiple open channels has been added, and some code cleanup has been done to improve performance.
