ICBM3D is a 3D version of Missile Command, a classic arcade game.
One of the key differences between Missile Command and ICBM3D is that the latter provides a 3D perspective. You can take advantage of X-Window's 3-button mouse to control your firing sight in three dimensions and change your viewpoint.
The game is designed for 1-player 3D action and supports both mouse-controlled and keyboard-controlled gameplay (with alterable keyboard settings). You'll face various types of missiles, ranging from standard to splitting and spiralling missiles. As you progress through higher levels, you'll encounter more and faster missiles, and levels 50 and above introduce wind to blow the smoke around to further confuse you.
ICBM3D also offers various viewing modes, including mouse-based viewing control, views from just above and below your cities, views from the sides of your cities, and even views from the point of view of incoming missiles. To improve game speed and playability, reduced framerate and "flickery" modes are available.
In addition to English, ICBM3D offers easy support for different languages (it comes as C source code), and you can tweak the gameplay and some defaults at compile time using many #define's.
To run ICBM3D, you'll need X-Window and a 3-button mouse (color display recommended). The latest release of the game offers an updated makefile, better keyboard control (you can hold down multiple keys), and support for multiple languages (just copy the English file and customize the words for your own language).
