This software is a free and open-source tool that provides users with a telnet-like protocol on Mac computers.
Developed in C for the UNIX environment, ISH uses the ISHELL server running in daemon mode on the remote server to enable communication. When a request is received from the client, the server will strip the header and examine the ID field to see if it matches its own. Upon confirmation, the server will pipe the data to "/bin/sh" and read the results back from the pipe for transmission back to the client.
In practice, this means you can quickly and securely connect to remote servers and execute commands without worrying about traditional network protocols. Once the client receives the command results, they will print to stdout for your review. Give ISH a try for a cleaner and more efficient way to manage your remote servers.
