IFStatus software visually displays real-time data for incoming and outgoing traffic, presenting commonly necessary statistics in an easy-to-read format.
The motivation behind this project was simple: there were no viewing consoles with simple graphical features to monitor interfaces. The software includes multiple interface support, dynamic graphic statistics, connectivity checks, current transfer rates, TX and RX indicators, Mbox e-mail checks, IP address display, online time, top bytes/s, top packets/s, as well as incoming and outgoing bytes, packets, and errors.
IFStatus requires curses (at least version 4.2) and libstdc++ to function properly. Redhat-based systems need to have the *-devel RPM packages installed before compiling the app from source.
The latest release fixes some graphical updates and the Interfaces::CheckState() method bugs, making the application more reliable for all Linux console users. Overall, IFStatus is an easy-to-use tool for monitoring network interface traffic and managing connectivity with efficiency.
