The IIIT LAN Browser is a Mozilla add-on that enables users to access IIIT Intranet, even when they are not connected to the IIIT Intranet. It allows users to bypass restrictions and access the Intranet from anywhere.
The tool has two convenient features: it adds a "View this page with IIITLANBrowser" or "Open Link Target with IIITLANBrowser" option to the Firefox right-click menu, depending on where you click, and also adds a "View with IIITLANBrowser" button for the address bar.
IIIT LAN Browser supports http, ftp, and https protocols, as well as forms and cookies. The software requires Firefox version 1.5 or later to run properly.
But there are a few limitations to keep in mind. The software won't work with ajax or URLs generated dynamically by JavaScript. Additionally, YouTube, Google Video, AdSense, and similar websites will not work. Overall, IIIT LAN Browser is a useful tool for IIITians to access Intranet resources outside the campus network.
