iLingo provides travelers with more than 450 translations of crucial words and phrases per language, accessible through their iPods.
iLingo's translations are not just displayed on the screen, but they are also spoken aloud with the push of a play button. Talking Panda, which is behind iLingo, employs high-quality audio recordings that accurately pronounce foreign phrases by native speakers.
The phrases in each language are intuitively organized into different categories and tailored to include country-specific foods, activities, and colloquialisms. These categories include Getting Directions, Dining, Making Friends, and Entertainment, to name a few.
Some key features of iLingo are:
- Each translator comes with over 400 phrases
- Audio files, created by native speakers, provide correct pronunciation for all included phrases
- Categories are intuitively organized to make it easier for you to find relevant phrases
- Windows version will be available soon
- Installing Talking Panda iLingo will create a numbered backup of your current notes, accessible when the iPod is mounted.
To use iLingo, you'll need an iPod with a dock connector on the bottom (including the iPod nano, iPod mini, and Click Wheel iPod). However, it's not compatible with the iPod shuffle or any iPod purchased before May 2003 - including those with a wheel that physically moves or a direct firewire connection on top. You'll also need to have at least 50MB free space on your iPod and iTunes (version 4.7 or later required).
