im2avi is a compact tool that converts image sequences into AVI videos.
Originally developed on Linux, im2avi can be used on most OSen that support avifile, ImageMagick, and fltk. Note, however, that while it has been reported to work on newer machines outside the Linux Debian Stable operating system, some users have experienced issues.
My primary use for im2avi is to make "screen movies" for presentations and similar events. Using xvidcap, I capture the frames and save them in the default xwd-format, which im2avi can easily read. From there, I create msmpeg4 AVIs with ease. Overall, im2avi is a reliable and practical choice for anyone in need of a software to create AVIs from sequences of images.
