IMWheel is a X11 daemon that monitors mouse wheel activity and delivers it as keystrokes.
Note that the wheel button can always be used as a middle button and does not affect how the XServer or GPM respond to it. A mouse with a wheel button should be configured as a 3 button mouse.
Installation is relatively straightforward thanks to the configure shell script, which attempts to guess the correct values for various system-dependent variables used during compilation. This script can also create a Makefile and other necessary files. If you need to do anything unusual during compilation, refer to the included README for instructions or email the developer with any suggestions.
To install the package, simply run the configure script, followed by the make command to compile the package. You can then run any self-tests with make check and install the programs and files with make install. Finally, if you want to remove the program binaries and object files from the source code directory, run make clean, and if you want to remove the files created by configure, run make distclean. Developers can also run make maintainer-clean if needed.
