iPass Helper is a useful dashboard widget designed to assist iPass users in locating a hotspot. It simplifies the process of finding a Wi-Fi hotspot while maximizing Internet connectivity wherever you go.
To begin with, the client would often crash on startup, which was a major inconvenience. Moreover, it would always crash on shutdown, making me lose precious data and progress. But that's not all - even when the app was running smoothly, finding a hotspot was a tedious task. The numerous hotspots listed were filtered by city, making it difficult to locate an accessible one without spending too much time sifting through irrelevant options.
Despite these issues, I decided to take matters into my own hands and wrote a widget that addressed the problem of locating hotspots. With this new tool, I was able to quickly and easily find hotspots that were available for connection, making my iPass experience much more enjoyable.
In conclusion, iPass is a great service with global access to free wifi hotspots. However, the OSX client leaves much to be desired due to frequent crashes and a clunky hotspot locator feature. If you are a dedicated OSX user, you may want to consider alternatives, or seek out additional tools to enhance your experience with iPass.
