ISIC tests the stability of an IP Stack and its related stacks through a range of utilities, including TCP, UDP and ICMP.
Once these packets are generated, they are sent to the target machine to either bypass its firewall rules or find bugs in the IP stack. Additionally, ISIC contains a useful function to generate raw ether frames to examine hardware implementations.
ISIC has become a widely used software tool and other novel applications include IDS testing, stack fingerprinting, breaking sniffers and putting pressure on the IRC kiddie. To use ISIC, you will need Libnet 1.1.x installed.
A word of caution: ISIC has the potential to cause network crashes and interfere with your firewall setting. Therefore, it is recommended to use with care and at your own risk.
