Jac is a Linux Cd-Player with plans to port it to other Unix-like platforms.
With language support for many languages, Jac currently only offers support for Italian and English languages. The developer of the software is, however, actively searching for someone to help with writing translations.
Jac can download CD and track information from both CDDB and CDIndex. While the FAQ page is outdated, this latest release includes a range of new features, including readline and history support in the console.
Other updates include short and long option support and configuration file updates for CD default options. Additionally, users now have the capability to set the CD-ROM and mixer device from the command line, overriding the configuration file.
This release also provides error descriptions for CDDB and CDIndex, a new MAN page, and command implementation in the console. With all of these new features, Jac is a top CD-player choice for Linux users.
