Jacksum KDE Konqueror Integration adds Jacksum 1.7.0 features to KDE Konqueror, and allows for easy uninstallation.
One of the main selling points of Jacksum is its support of 58 popular algorithms, such as SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-512, MD4, MD5, and many others. This synthetic word made of JAva and ChecKSUM also supports the "Rocksoft (tm) Model CRC Algorithm" and can calculate customized CRC algorithms.
Another great feature of Jacksum is that it is platform-independent, as it is entirely written in the Java programming language. This means that it works on any platform with a Java Runtime Environment, making it highly versatile.
If you're concerned about open-source software, then you'll be happy to know that Jacksum has open-source code and is released under the terms of the GNU GPL. It is also OSI Certified Open Source Software, which is a certification mark of the Open Source Initiative.
Apart from its reliability and flexibility, Jacksum has multiple interfaces, which makes it easy to use on the command line or in your file browser, among other software projects. To use the software, you'll need to have Jacksum and KDE on your system.
In the latest release, Jacksum has bundled jacksum.jar from the Jacksum 1.7.0 package, which includes additional algorithms like crc32_bzip2, HAS-160, and the Tiger/Tiger2 Tree Hashes. The latest version also sees the addition of Tiger/Tiger2 algorithms and menu items like "calc integrity for the directory," "check integrity of directory," "all algorithms," and "edit script." A German readme.txt has also been added for ease of use.
