JAMin is a software interface for audio mastering that utilizes the JACK Audio Connection Kit (JACK) technology.
However, to use JAMin, you need to meet some requirements such as the ALSA (Advanced Linux Sound Architecture), JACK (JACK Audio Connection Kit), LADSPA (Linux Audio Developer's Simple Plug-in API), SWH plug-ins (Steve Harris' LADSPA plug-ins), FFTW (Fastest Fourier Transform in the West), liblo (an implementation of OSC protocol), libsndfile (Erik de Castro Lopo's sound file I/O), and GTK (The GIMP Toolkit). Since JAMin uses FFT, it is quite CPU and memory hungry, so it is recommended to use the most recent hardware, ideally 2 CPU. However, it has been reported that running an AMD Athlon 1700+ (1.46 GHz) with 512 Mbyte PC133 memory makes it run real running Ardour->JAMin->Ardour with 12-16 tracks plus effects with no problem.
Overall, JAMin is a powerful audio mastering tool that offers numerous features to maximize audio quality. It is suitable for audio engineers and music producers who wish to achieve professional audio quality on their audio projects.
