This software is a handy tool to manage importing of Jabber nicknames in a simple and efficient manner.
One of the standout features of Java Rooster Utility is its ability to import nicknames from other popular instant messaging programs such as Trillian and ICQ2000b. As long as these programs are capable of producing Trillian or ICQ2000b compatible contact lists on your disk, it's possible to seamlessly import your contacts into your Jabber roster.
But that's not all - Java Rooster Utility also provides an option to add contacts that are in your local address book but not in the contact list your transport received from the server. Additionally, you can tell JRU to overwrite the nicknames that the transport received from the server with the ones in your local file. These features are particularly useful for older ICQ client implementations that may not synchronize well with the server-sided contact list of ICQ.
Last but not least, the software includes a cool function that notifies everyone on your contact list that you are now using Jabber, and that Jabber is the superior choice when it comes to instant messaging platforms. Overall, I found Java Rooster Utility to be an extremely user-friendly and effective tool that makes managing my Jabber roster a breeze. Highly recommended!
