JLaps is a free, open-source RC timing app perfect for racers. With user-friendly features that give seamless results, it provides real-time tracking of race timings. Its' tremendous functionality and ease-of-use make it an ideal tool for any race enthusiast.
JLaps is fully compatible with AMBRc3 devices, and new devices can be quickly and easily added by implementing a device API. This software comes with several outstanding features that make it a standout. Firstly, JLaps features drivers and models catalogs that store all drivers ever listed on a race with their models. Every model has an identification based on the transponder ID and frequency assigned to the model. Every model belongs to a category. There is also easy-to-use search functionality for drivers.
Secondly, JLaps offers races and categories catalogs that feature all races ever used with JLaps. There can only be one race selected in time, and the selection is done automatically by date (today's date is searched in the race catalog) or manually. Every race has more categories, and every category has a selectable number of heat/qualifying rounds and finals. Every category can also have a different result calculator, and racers are organized into groups per category.
Thirdly, JLaps provides real-time race results, which are the most interesting feature of the timing software. You can see results as soon as they are generated by the timing device. The event from the device is immediately listed and added to the results. You can see all-time current positions, best rounds, etc. There is per-category or per race view, and there is also a separate window to be displayed on another screen for current results. Screenshots are available to help users see JLaps in action.
Lastly, JLaps offers race results on both screen and paper. Different views can be printed to PDF and a printer, and an open API is provided to create a custom report based on your needs. JLaps is easy and straightforward to use, making it ideal for individuals and teams that participate in RC racing.
