Job Hunter is a job tracking software that helps users find employment or contracts by monitoring job opportunities.
As a software contractor, I am always on the lookout for new job opportunities. In the past, I used to write leads on pieces of paper, which eventually got replaced with worksheets. However, I decided to switch to Job Hunter when I realized that my notes were becoming too unorganized. I recognized that this software is essentially like a lead manager for job searchers, similar to those used by sales professionals. It helps you sell your skills to potential employers, after all.
To install Job Hunter, you will need PostgreSQL and PHP 4.3.11+ or PHP 5 which will become the new standard. Additionally, you will require a PDF reader or OpenOffice/NeoOffice 1.0+ to read the documentation. I have successfully run the software on a Linux machine and Apple OS X, and as a result, I highly recommend Job Hunter.
For those who do not desire to tinker with their own machines, the software can be registered and used directly on the website. The release of this software has brought about numerous updates, the most significant being the fixing and testing of maintnote.php to be compatible with PHP 5.
