This software implements STUN (Session Traversal Utilities for NAT) through Network Address Translation, allowing devices behind NAT and firewalls to communicate with each other for peer-to-peer connections.
The JSTUN project encompasses most of the message headers and attributes outlined in RFC 3489, which are fundamental components of STUN. Furthermore, the current version of JSTUN includes a STUN-Client that can be utilized by applications to identify firewalls and NATs.
Lastly, it is important to note that the JSTUN project operates under the GNU General Public License, which makes the software completely open source and free to use.
