JukX is a touchscreen Jukebox software specifically designed for easy usage, allowing users to manage and play their music collections with ease.
Currently, JukX is in a quick and dirty hack, but it works well enough to serve as a source of music in my kitchen. However, it is important to note that JukX is not a simple install and run app. A music collection background is necessary to use it effectively.
JukX is released under the terms of the GNU General Public License v2. In terms of requirements, users need Python 2.4 or higher, PyGtk, XMMS2 Jerkyll, python-xmmsclient, python-glade, and GTK+ version 2.0.x to use the software.
JukX's latest release includes a variety of new features such as the replacement of the scrolled album chooser with pages, nicer images indicating the first artist char, a shutdown and exit button, meta information displayed on the queue view, minor layout changes, and the use of the glib connector for gtk main loop integration. Overall, JukX is a reliable and efficient software for those who enjoy tactile music control.
