Kaspaliste is a Linux/KDE literature database providing users with a platform to store literature-related materials.
To ensure the safety of your data, it is highly recommended that you frequently backup your database and keep old backups. As a non-native English speaker, corrections are always welcome to improve the overall quality of Kaspaliste software.
Unlike other literature databases, Kaspaliste goes beyond storing bibliographical information. With this software, you can create annotated links between pieces of information such as the content of a book chapter, making it easy to group links into categories. The interface of Kaspaliste is like that of a web browser. This feature enables users to follow the links to open records quickly. Additionally, you can walk back and forth through previously edited records, change fields, create or delete links, publication, authors, and more, all at the click of a mouse.
Kaspaliste can store various file formats such as HTML, PDF, PS, DVI and pictures (depending on your KDE-installation as the kpart-technology is used). You can OCR’ed parts of interesting publications, and the full-text search covers these files. One of the significant features of Kaspaliste is the automatic generation of BibTex files.
The software has been updated to circumvent a bug in the pdf-KPart and to fix bugs for kde 3.2. With these updates, users can expect a more stable and reliable system. Overall, Kaspaliste is an excellent software that provides an efficient and easy way to manage literature databases.
