Kdenlive is a KDE-based non-linear video editor for manipulating videos in a flexible way, making it possible to add different effects, transitions, and audio tracks to footage.
Planned support includes transitions, effects, multiple file formats, and full project and asset management support. The current beta release is capable of editing raw DV or AVI DV files with basic editing tools such as move, razor, and resize. It also allows for selection of parts of clips using in/outpoints, and has the ability to export the result to another raw DV file.
During the editing process, users may playback/preview the contents of the timeline at any point. The software fully supports project save/load functionality, allowing users to easily come back to their projects at a later time.
