"Access live video feeds of the Kennedy Space Center in action with our software." (18 words)
With this widget, I had the ability to scroll through all 15 channels or view my favorite channels. One of the features that stood out to me was its ability to update automatically, depending on the refresh rate that I selected. I could also choose from any of three image sizes, and if desired, I could hide the frame so that the image floats on the desktop. Plus, this widget comes with links to several relevant KSC pages.
However, there are a few known issues with the widget that I should mention. First, the image captions are static, which means that the text may differ from what is on the KSC website. But in the next version, the developer intends to update the captions dynamically. Second, resizing the widget to a larger size does not repaint the entire image until you grab it and drag, which means that it takes an extra step to resize the widget.
Despite these small issues, I found this widget to be quite impressive. For users who prefer smaller images, they can still use version 1.0, which displays the same channels but only in the small image size.
The new features in version 1.2 are impressive, as well. Resizing the widget now repaints the entire image without requiring a grab and drag. The developer has also fixed some problems when reading and writing preferences, and removed the "hide frame" option. Overall, I would definitely recommend this widget to space enthusiasts who want to keep up-to-date with the latest news, weather, and imagery from the Kennedy Space Center.
