KFieldLines is a KDE screen saver software designed to use OpenGL technology. It offers a graphical representation of electric fields through the use of field lines.
The project offers sources and precompiled binaries packages for Felinux distro (and Slackware 11). Installation is relatively easy, but it requires opening a konsole and typing "su" and then entering your root password. Once you have access, type "installpkg kfieldlines-0.1-i486-1.tgz," and you're all set. You can now access KFieldLines screen saver by opening Desktop configuration -> ScreenSavers -> OpenGL. It's worth noting that this package is also compatible with Slackware Linux 11.
If you wish to compile KFieldLines sources, you can start by decompressing the archive and then opening the konsole and going to the directory. Here, type "./configure make make install (as root)," and you're done. KFieldLines screen saver will be available by opening Desktop configuration -> ScreenSavers -> OpenGL.
