Kirocker Music Display is a script for Amaork that adds a music display feature to your KDE main panel (Kicker), enabling it to move in sync with your music.
Installing Kirocker Music Display is easy. Simply extract the archive, open a Konsole in the extracted folder, run the provided set of commands, and enter your root password to install the applet on your system. Once installed, the applet can be accessed by right-clicking on the Kicker and selecting "Add an Applet to the Panel..." You can then choose "Kirocker Music Display" and start playing music to see the applet in action. Importantly, the applet does not display any unnecessary information when Amarok is paused or is not playing music.
Among the useful features included in Kirocker Music Display is the Kicker right translucent white background, which can be accessed by extracting the image file from the archive and following the provided instructions. You also get theme support, and a graphical editor that is both powerful and easy to use. Additionally, users can enjoy karaoke with automatically-scrolling lyrics, and there is a no-cover image from Oxygen that looks stunning and is scalable.
Other upgrades in this release include the use of "Track, Artist, Album" order instead of "Artist, Album, Track", to be more compliant with other displays like iPod and Last.fm. The applet has also been optimized for enhanced performance and comes with a brand new application icon that looks sleeker and more modern. Finally, the software has had several bugs removed to ensure that performance is seamless at all times.
