KSmoothDock is a smooth desktop panel designed for KDE 3.2 software with zooming features that enhance the user's desktop experience.
To install KSmoothDock, users can just unzip the files, cd to the directory ksmoothdock, and execute ./configure make su make install. If there are any issues compiling, running make -f Makefile.cvs ./configure --without-arts make su make install should fix the problem. After that, the user can run ksmoothdock.
In case ksmoothdock doesn't run, it is likely that the KDE dir is not standard. In such cases, the user can either cd to the ksmoothdock/src directory and execute "./ksmoothdock," or re-do the above commands but add --prefix=/YOUR_KDE_DIR instead of ./configure.
In the latest release, KSmoothDock has been improved with new features and bug fixes. Users can now use new command line options such as resetConfig and resetLaunchers. Additionally, the display bugs on both normal and parabolic zoom modes have been fixed in v4.4. Overall, KSmoothDock proves to be an excellent and reliable desktop panel for KDE 3.2.
