KSniffer is a KDE-based software that facilitates network packet capturing and analysis.
The latest release comes with several improvements, including more information for ARP, TCP, and UDP protocols. Additionally, the "Information" column now provides useful data for UDP/TCP protocols, while the "Protocol" column recognizes protocols from the packet.
To make configuration easier, the configuration dialog has been split into two groups: capture and GUI. Furthermore, users can now choose to display the RAW Packet frame either on the right or under the Packet Details frame.
Having the option to save your file elsewhere after initially saving it is also a great addition. Plus, several bugs have been fixed in this latest release, such as the "network transparency" bug, the "lost packets" bug, and the "XML parse errors" bug for ksniff.
Overall, KSniffer is a solid sniffing application for KDE, even though it's still in development. With its latest release, it's more user-friendly and packed with useful features.
