Lame 3.58 unified diff available for download; GNU patch required for application.
To use the code, all you have to do is type "make mp3rtp". It's important to mention that the code was previously broken, but according to reports, the CVS code has been fixed and now works properly with playRTPMPEG as of Feb 21 2000.
It's worth mentioning that in order for the output stream to have the correct speed, the input must be a live recorded stream from your sound card, or the encoding must be done in real-time on your CPU using lame.
This code utilizes the Realtime Transport Protocol (RTP), which is defined in RFC 1889. RTP is a great transport option for multicasting an mp3 stream.
