Lastsync is software that retrieves your last.fm statistics such as playcount of your music files and transfers it to your Amarok database through a script.
One of the most significant issues with last.fm is that there is no way to see your complete playcount for all the tracks you have ever listened to. Instead, the "Top Tracks" stream only displays the top 50. Fortunately, Lastsync solves this problem by downloading and processing the complete "Weekly Chart List" history. This feature enables the script to sum up the playcount of all weeks and search for every track in your Amarok database while setting the playcount, score, last played, and first played time of the files appropriately.
While this method may not be entirely accurate, it works efficiently, as it successfully counted 23,000 of the reviewer's 24,000 plays. For the best results, we recommend running Lastsync on Sundays at noon after last.fm updates its Weekly Chart. It is essential to note that Lastsync only currently runs with a SQLite Amarok-backend.
Lastsync offers some excellent key features that make accessing your last.fm statistics and keeping them organized on your Amarok even more efficient. These features include the ability to retrieve your last.fm stats, correct mislabeled ID3 tags, and support for a SQLite backend. Overall, Lastsync is a well-designed software that offers an efficient solution to an annoying problem, and we highly recommend it for anyone looking to keep track of their last.fm statistics accurately.
