LCD4Linux grabs data from the kernel and subsystems and shows it on an external LCD. It is a small software program.
One of the most anticipated features is the return of GPO's. Additionally, this release includes several new drivers such as WincorNixdorf, LPH7508, Crystalfontz CF635, LUIse, LCD2USB, LEDMatrix, USBHUB, Logitech G-15, picoLCD, and Electronic Assembly. The current drivers have also been updated, including TREFON, Crystalfontz, BWCT, LCD-Linux, serdisplib, M50530, and T6963.
Users can now enjoy new widgets like Image, Timer, Keypad, and GPO, as well as new plugins for file, mpd, string::strupper(), KVV, and iconv. Most widgets now have dynamic properties evaluated at runtime, providing a more efficient user experience.
