Software for viewing and editing Lego brick models saved in LDRAW format.
This software's default is the viewer mode, which is compatible with LDLite and ldraw. However, it includes many additional features that make it useful as a scene modeler for l3p and POV. Besides, there is an LEdit emulation mode that enables users to create and edit models easily. Renaming the program with "ledit" such as ldgledit or l3gledit will automatically trigger LEDIT emulation mode. This can also be activated using the -le or -lE command line option.
In editing mode, ldglite is highly customizable, and plugins from the LDDP project can be used to generate hoses, pose minifigs, create train track layouts, among others. Many websites even use ldglite as a scripted offscreen renderer for generating numerous pictures of LDRAW parts for inventory lists and such. Most importantly, all of its source code is available, making it a great tool for developers who would like to make modifications to the program.
Overall, Ldglite is a sophisticated software that every Lego enthusiast should check out. It provides an excellent platform for creating, editing, and viewing Lego models, and its compatibility with various operating systems makes it a must-have software for developers.
