This software comes equipped with advanced features, such as support for > and in search queries, page splitting at search results, searching only online servers, searching for files and directories only, limiting file size, caching, and Russian name search.
With the lftpsearch program, users can view statistics on servers, including the total number of files and directories and their size. It was initially developed for use over LANs and requires Perl, web-server, Time::localtime, CGI, and Net::FTP to operate.
Installing the software is easy. First, unpack the lftpsearch-x.x.x.tar.bz2 file, configure script via the config.pl file, modify notice.txt, and add servers by editing servers.txt. Ensure you adjust permissions as necessary by following the given examples.
Among the fantastic new features included in this release are a "statistics" page with global and daily stats, most popular queries, most active users, most active hours, and the total number of queries. There is also the introduction of Russian localization of lftpsearch.pl's Web interface, which is not included in the default archive but available from the lftpsearch homepage. Finally, the release features some bug fixes, HTML improvements, and better search performance.
