Libicq2000 is a C++ software library designed to support the icq2000/2001 protocol. It is an open-source project under active development.
To run the application, you will need to install the libstdc++ library and the libsigc++ library. However, once installed, you can take advantage of some of the powerful features offered by libicq2000. These include message sending and receiving, URL sending, SMS sending and receiving (with delivery reports and SMTP gateway delivery), status changes, authorisation requests, "you were added" messages, fetching user info from the server (both basic and advanced), fetching away messages, setting custom away messages, direct connections, invisibility (including visible/invisible lists), and ignore lists.
In the latest release of libicq2000, the examples/Makefile.am now includes more header files to include in SOURCES for dist target. Overall, this library offers developers an easy and efficient solution for connecting to the ICQ network.
