LightMe software provides a convenient way to turn off the screen without holding down the light on/off button. This application makes it easy to save battery life and ensure effortless device usage.
With LightMe, you can easily switch off your screen by using the command-F1 (or command-fn-F1) combination. To return to the previous screen brightness setting, simply press command-F2 (or command-fn-F2). If you press the same key combination again, the screen brightness will switch to the maximum value.
The software is based on MCBrightness package which is a set of classes that enable users to get information and set/get brightness about connected LCD monitors. It was created by Daniele Margutti and you can find it at www.malcom-mac.com -> Cocoa Classes.
LightMe is distributed under the GPL license, and the XCode Project is included in the package. So, if you're looking for a simple yet useful tool to help you manage your screen brightness on your Mac, then LightMe is a great tool to consider.
