This software is created to organize paperwork related to professional lighting design.
Lightwright has been programmed to understand the ins and outs of what designers and electricians do with their paperwork, including managing dimmers and circuits and handling striplights and color scrollers. Lightwright is equipped to allow for changes like changing R-33 in the sidelights to L-110 in ways that are extremely fast, straightforward, and intricately designed to fit perfectly with the way you work.
This software is not just limited to change management. It is also capable of finding mistakes, comparing two sets of paperwork, appropriately assigning dimmers, redoing circuits, renumbering pipes, channel, and dimmers quickly and automatically.
The software allows text input in almost any form and uses footnotes and ditto marks to reduce the amount of typing and paper waste. Lightwright is also bundled with professional-standard focus charts, including sketches, imported photos or graphics, designer location, shutter cuts, beam edge and orientation, and other essential notes.
Lightwright includes an integrated work notes database, which can contain notes specific to lights or general notes relating to channels, dimmers, or others that do not relate to anything specific (such as "Where shall we have dinner?").
Lightwright has set the industry standard as it has been used by both designers and electricians worldwide for over 20 years. In 1998, Lightwright received the Lighting Dimensions International Software Product of the Year award. The software was developed by John McKernon, a professional designer and Ken Billington's associate designer.
This software emphasizes speed and accuracy above all, assisting professionals in the theatre industry with seamless change management processes while requiring minimal effort in spotting potential errors. Lightwright is used consistently on Broadway, major and minor opera houses, ballet companies, regional theatres, community theatres, and universities globally. It is known worldwide, including countries such as the United States, Canada, England, France, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Asia.
