The extension displays all the hyperlinks present in the current web page, including those within frames. Additionally, it also shows the total number of hyperlinks in the page. Users can also search for links in the current webpage and select multiple links to open in tabs or copy locations for all selected links.
LinkSidebar provides a search box that allows users to search for links within the current page by typing in text. Users can enclose phrases in quotes to find exact phrases and use a minus (-) sign to exclude links containing certain words from the search results.
For example, by typing "youtube -cats," users can find all links related to YouTube videos except videos containing cats. Additionally, the extension also supports multi-threaded link testing for simultaneous tests. Users can view link status at a glance, with status icons displayed next to each link.
Users can view full details about a link, including test results and the full response header in a properties dialog. To test all links in a webpage except for Google Adsense ads, users can search for "-googlesyndication.com," filter out all Adsense ads, and then right-click in the sidebar and select "Test all links."
Once installed, LinkSidebar can be opened with the shortcut key (Ctrl+Shift+L) or through the view menu (View->Sidebar->Links). A toolbar button is also provided, which can be added by right-clicking on any button in a Firefox toolbar and selecting customize. Users can then drag and drop the LinkSidebar button to any Firefox toolbar.
Overall, LinkSidebar is a useful extension for Firefox users who want to test the links in web pages with ease and efficiency. Its selective link testing feature and search box make it a powerful tool for link testing and filtering.
