LinScope is a port scanner software that comes with a user-friendly GUI designed using QT. The software is capable of enumerating windows network shares (SMB).
Not only can LinScope save your favorites, but it also has the ability to create a customized list of your IP address ranges. The project is built to work in extensive networks and internet environments where broadcast traffic is disabled (uses direct IP address and rpcclient from samba).
One of the most impressive features of LinScope is its ability to assign manual commands for opening shares. This feature is apart from FTP, HTTP, and SMB, and it serves to enhance the functionality of the software.
The installation process is relatively straightforward. You need GCC, make, QT 3.3.X (or later 3 series) with qmake, uic, moc. Once you have downloaded linscope-X.X.X.tar.gz, you can then run the following commands - tar xvzf linscope-X.X.X.tar.gz, cd LinScope/linscope/, qmake, and make. You can then copy "lrpcscanip" and "linscope" to any directory that exists in $PATH.
Alternatively, you can download linscope-X.X.X-bin.tar.gz, unpack, and copy "lrpcscanip" and "linscope" to a directory that exists in $PATH.
The new release features several exciting additions, including "find" and "find next" function that now works effectively. The IP addresses are also now sorted better in the list view. Additionally, the "add comment" feature now copies the previous comment, while the "hide offline" function is now available. A Russian translation has also been added to enhance the user experience further.
