LinVDR is a distribution of VDR software.
For easy access and management, LinVDR has integrated the browser frontend VDR Admin and a Samba share. The Samba share supports up- and downloading of music or DVD images with windows clients. The base system is Debian Woody compatible, built with Klaus Schmidinger's unbeatable Video Disk Recorder Software VDR, and features the DVB driver from Convergence. The distribution is easy to install, which suits normal users with little or no Linux knowledge.
In the latest release, LinVDR has updated its VDR Version to 1.3.17 with enAIO-Patch, which comes with a host of new features. It has several plugins like Autotimer-Edit, EPG-Search, Text2Skin, VBox, and several others. These plugins have undergone many updates and have new improvements, enhancing the overall user experience. The update also supports multi-language, with German and English as supported languages.
The distribution comes with an updated install program and setup program, making it easier for users to install and manage the system. It features the latest kernel 2.6.9 with support for almost all chipsets and network cards. It has updated DVB drivers, VDR Admin, DVD-Author, and other tools like NoAd, FBTV, Samba 3.0, and many more. Among the supported media tools are MPlayer, Alsa, USB Keyboard support, dvd+rw-tools, udftools and Read-only support for NTFS.
