Lithium Network Monitoring Platform is an all-in-one solution for overseeing and controlling networks and servers, equipped with advanced features and seamlessly integrated modules.
This platform follows a scalable, modular architecture, with a Unix-based server-side component, Windows and Mac OS X clients for user interaction, and a Web-based user interface. Lithium also supports monitoring devices through the industry standard SNMP protocol and has built-in support for any device that supports SNMP. The Basic and Advanced SNMP modules, that come with LITHIUM|Core, provide monitoring support for common SNMP MIBS, while additional vendor/device-specific monitoring capacity is provided through the use of Device Modules.
The tightly-integrated case management system integrated into Lithium allows for tracking and recording fault investigation, incident reporting, user requests, and communications. Furthermore, Lithium allows users to bind monitored entities to cases, thereby retrieving all cases relating to a device, network interface, site, etc., at any time.
For a graphical interface, Lithium provides graphically rich, interactive monitoring, and management consoles for both Mac OS X and Windows XP/Vista. The Console applications provide users with advanced graphing, device browsing, fault management, and incident investigation capabilities.
One of its notable features is its Core component that comes bundled with an OS-independent web-based interface that allows you to view in-depth network monitoring and operational telemetry anytime, anywhere, without the need for additional client software.
Built to scale and ensure reliability, the Lithium Network Monitoring Platform is designed with a flexible architecture, process-per-device resourcing, and the reliability and stability of a UNIX-based back-end.
The only limitations are that the FREE Edition License can only monitor up to 10 devices, while Professional can monitor up to 25 devices, and Enterprise Edition has no device limit.
The latest release fixes Net-SNMP on Mac OS X server/client locking up when being monitored by Lithium, a forced reload of the device data tree when uptime discontinuity is encountered, and provides Vendor/Device module/User list accessible via XML. There's also reduced syslog debug/info output, fixes the build of 'construct' to make it universal(PPC/Intel), and adds a bandwidth reporting interface with 95% percentile and CSV export.
Adding or editing devices now presents a drop-down list of installed modules, and re-assigning cases now presents a drop-down list of users.
