The M-Audio FireWire Audiophile software acts as a driver for FireWire MIDI Interface. It enables seamless communication between the user's system and the MIDI device.
This release contains several fixes that enhance the user experience. There is a problem with Logic 7.2.3 with Project Mix where if the "Window" button is pressed, Logic goes into a window opening loop, and you have to close it. This issue is resolved in this release.
Also addressed is a problem with the Project Mix I/O MIDI Application. Here, upgrading the firmware on the PMIO did not work with driver 1.7.1. The latest release solves this. Additionally, there is a solution for random reports where Project Mix I/O reports unable to communicate with HUI.
Another significant fix is for the Project Mix I/O, where the letter e occasionally appears in the lower right of the LCD. The update resolves the issue entirely. Other issues addressed include problems with ProFire Lightbridge, NRV-10, and intermittent problems with Mac Pro using the FW 1.7.4 driver which would trigger a reboot loop after installation of the driver, and you connect any 1394 device.
Overall, the FireWire Audiophile performs exceptionally well, and this release addresses some nagging issues that enhance the product's reliability and stability. If you're looking for a FireWire-compatible audio/MIDI interface that comes packed with power and flexibility, be sure to check out the FireWire Audiophile.
