Encourages users to take periodic breaks during prolonged computer usage to prevent eye strain, back pain, and other health issues. Increases productivity by reminding users to take breaks for a better work/life balance.
The setup was simple - all I had to do was specify the amount of time I wanted to work between breaks, the length of the breaks, and how I wanted to be notified when a break was due. MacAppStuff Rest then reminded me to take a break at specified time intervals by displaying a popup message and/or sound.
I appreciated that the reminders were customizable and didn't interrupt my work too much - I could still finish off a task before taking a break if needed. When it was time for a break, I was encouraged to get up, walk around, relax, grab a drink or have a stretch before returning to my computer.
One feature I particularly enjoyed was the ability to stop the countdown or even postpone the break a little longer if I wasn't ready to stop working immediately when a break reminder appeared.
Overall, I found MacAppStuff Rest to be a useful and simple tool for anyone who spends long hours in front of a computer. It's a great way to prioritize your health and prevent the negative effects that can come from extended screen time.
