MacAT is a software tool that enables Macintosh server administrators to schedule AT/UNIX cron tasks on their Windows systems. It simplifies the scheduling process and streamlines task management for enhanced efficiency.
MacAT allows users to schedule 36 of the most common MacOS tasks to run daily, weekly, monthly or yearly without any user intervention. Some of the key features of MacAT include the ability to launch applications, files, and AppleScripts, quit individual applications, or alternatively quit all currently running processes. Users can also rename and delete files or folders, mount remote AppleShare volumes automatically over AppleTalk, and copy files or folders to any mounted AppleTalk volume. Additionally, MacAT allows users to unmount nominated AppleShare volumes or floppies/cdrom's, and even restart or shutdown the Macintosh.
However, one limitation of MacAT is the presence of shareware reminders. Nonetheless, the latest release of MacAT includes FileMaker 8.5 support, making it an even more comprehensive software solution for server administrators.
In terms of requirements, MacAT only needs CarbonLib. All in all, MacAT is a valuable tool that simplifies the administration of Macintosh servers, saving users both time and effort.
