MacBibble is a software that allows professional photographers to process raw photos taken with digital SLRs. It offers features like color correction, noise reduction, and batch processing to streamline the editing process.
In contrast, Jpegs are heavily processed in-camera and only record 8 bits of data per image. They should be thought of as digital prints of someone else's interpretation of what the color should look like. Additionally, Jpegs are compressed, introducing artifacts and reducing sharpness. Tiff files avoid compression problems but can be slow to use and very large. Although they do not have compression issues like Jpegs, they still only contain 8 Bits of data per channel.
With Bibble, browsing through your raw files, editing and adjusting them, and saving them in final form as either Jpegs or Tiffs is quick and easy. Bibble also offers many powerful tools to adjust your images and bring satisfaction. The new version has new camera support, Fill Light (Shadow Recovery), Display and export of EXIF GPS position info, enhanced and sharper output, and support for tethered shooting for all supported Canons on Macintosh. Supported cameras include Nikon, Canon EOS, Powershot, Olympus, Kodak, Pentax, Minolta, Epson, and Fuji.
To use Bibble, OSX 3.0 or higher is recommended, and a G4 processor 1.0Ghz, with a G5 processor recommended, plus 512 Megs of free RAM, with 768+ recommended for large images or extensive batch processing (768 minimum for 1DS2/D2X/S2), and 1 Gig or more of free hard drive space strongly recommended. The software also requires Photoshop 7/8/cs for Photoshop plugin (Pro) and Photoshop Elements 2.0 for Elements plug-in (Lite). Bibble is a great software for anyone looking to take their photography to the next level with maximum creative control and maximum quality.
