Version: 2.1Macro Express 2000 is a full-featured utility for creating and playing back macros.
License: Free To Try
Operating System: Windows
A macro is a set of commands that can be played back at will to perform a given task. For example, you can use macros to insert dates into documents, resize windows, automate e-mail responses, fill in Web forms, or launch programs and Web sites.
With Macro Express, you can create 'global' macros that can be used in any Windows program. Or you can create 'program specific' or 'window specific' macros that can be used only with a particular program or window. You can create macros manually or you can use the Scripting Editor to view and edit your macros. When recording macros, you can capture all your keyboard typing and mouse movements and clicks and adjust the playback speed.
Macros can be assigned to almost 700 different Hot Key combinations using the CTRL, ALT, SHIFT and WIN keys. Or you can assign the macro to a text string, called a 'ShortKey'. You can also set macros to run on a specific timed schedule.
There are hundreds of macro commands available, including ones for: entering keystrokes, controlling the mouse, launching programs, sending e-mail, controlling windows, processing ASCII and text files, managing dial-up networking, executing file commands, and more. Your macro scripts can include variables, if-then-else logic, input boxes, questions, menus, pauses, waits, loops, and much more.
Other features of Macro Express include: a built-in scripting editor; dozens of wizards to step you through common macro creations; the ability to remap your keyboard; network compatibility; the ability to create a menu of macros; the ability to shut down applications with a single keystroke; password protection of macros; and much more.
