MacSloMo is a CPU emulator that can emulate various games such as centipedes, millipedes, and two Astro Fighters.
Originally ported from Visual Basic by TJ Grant, MacSloMo is now under the responsibility of newer versions and releases by another developer. Nevertheless, TJ Grant might re-engage with the project at a later time.
MacSloMo has some specific requirements for efficient operation, including system 7.0 or better for 68040's and system 7.6 or better for PowerPC's, a 640x480 or better monitor with 256 colors, and 4 megs of free RAM.
This latest version of MacSloMo improves on its functionalities compared to its previous releases. The 68k support, however, is currently malfunctioning. This new version removes some extraneous codes, rewrites the main loop for accuracy and speed, and takes out manually programmed windows (into dialogs). Additional optimizations include reworking the Hog CPU scheme, tweaking the code size, shaving off some instructions from the addressing core, significantly optimizing the CPU core, and fixing mistakes with ROL and ROR instructions. This release also fixed small division errors.
The excellent features of MacSloMo, combined with its various improvements and changes, make it a highly recommended CPU emulator for Mac users.
