mAdmin is an advanced administration software for Macintosh systems developed by Infamus Software. It offers powerful features for managing and controlling various aspects of a Mac system, making it an ideal choice for IT professionals and businesses.
Despite its power, mAdmin does not come across as intrusive, in-your-face, RAM-hungry, or CPU-intensive. Instead, it offers powerful features that can help you customize your Mac experience according to your needs.
Some of the key features of mAdmin include the ability to restrict or require access to certain applications or control panels, any folder/directory, and even the System Folder access to protect your Mac setup, security, and reliability. You can also restrict file sharing, prevent users from installing new software, and even control the system volume level. Additionally, users can be prevented from placing items in the Trash, using file sharing or music swapping applications, and resource editing utilities like ResEdit.
Furthermore, mAdmin offers the option to control use of internet chat programs or any other internet application, restrict use of Sherlock/Find File, and password protect mAdmin prefs and changes. You can even schedule restricted time down to the minute to maintain control over your Mac experience.
The software also keeps an automatic log of attempted restricted use, alerts users about restricted acts, and shows them a schedule (if enabled). Additionally, you can import and export settings for easy use on multiple Macs.
However, it's important to note that the demo version has two restrictions of no password and an 8-minute limit. To use mAdmin to its maximum potential, you need a PowerPC Macintosh and 1.3MB of free RAM.
