Mail Drop is an IMAP email client designed to manage email communication. This software can handle multiple email accounts, and it allows users to easily organize and prioritize their emails for increased efficiency.
In this release, Mail Drop no longer warns you about closing unsent messages when you have already sent them. Additionally, the warning message window now appears in front, indicating the right message referred to in the warning. The latest version has also removed extra spaces in FETCH command and modified the "File Message" window to display the selected folder by default.
File management is also made easy with the latest update. Now, pressing cmd-D in the "File Message" window toggles the "Delete original message" checkbox. It is also no longer possible to enter more than 63 characters in IMAP/SMTP server fields in the Servers prefs. Moreover, SMTP server address is not equipped to handle multiple SMTP servers. The IMAP Port field has been removed, and the default port (143) will be used for now.
The new release comes with a few user authentication tweaks including the ability to disable LOGIN and CRAM-MD5 authenticators. However, these authenticators should be left enabled unless any issues arise. Additionally, Mail Drop fixes a bug with expunging and new message sound and reverts back to the old "new recipient" address parsing code.
Mail Drop also fixes a bug where renaming a folder would update its displayed name, but not its "full" name, which caused issues when opening the folder before refreshing the folder list. Other bug fixes include those in the 68K version, where the size of all messages would display as 0K, and where Mail Drop would constantly check for new messages and flood the server with NOOPs.
Finally, Mail Drop now limits encrypted passwords in the preferences file to prevent parsing code from being truncated. Moreover, the password encryption algorithm has been modified, and the bug in the message body pane that sometimes got hosed when printing has been fixed. Overall, the latest update of Mail Drop is powerful and has brought significant improvements in functionality, interface, and usability.
