This software creates a group by compiling contacts from different sub-groups within a main group.
This script was designed with Entourage users in mind who regularly use self-updating groups for their contacts. It allows you to keep these groups while still being able to send emails to them. Make Group of Contacts from Groups in Groups works by taking a group that includes both groups and groups of groups and creating a new group that contains all of the contacts/addresses from each of the subgroups.
The new group will have the same name as the old group, but with underscores at the beginning and end of the name (i.e. "_oldGroupName_"). Additionally, the "Don't show addresses when sending to group" option will be checked automatically. The script even offers to clean up old versions of "_oldGroupName_" for you to keep your contacts organized.
The Make Group of Contacts from Groups in Groups script is a simple and effective solution to one of Entourage's most frustrating errors. It requires only Entourage 2004 to work correctly, making it an accessible solution for all users. If you've been having difficulty sending emails to groups of groups, this script is definitely worth a try.
