Martini is a feature-packed software for managing files smoothly and efficiently. It offers advanced tools and functionalities to help users organize, search and process files with ease.
The core of Martini is built on plugins that allow users to enjoy different views like icons, lists, images, and more. Adding new views is easy, and the program can be used across different operating environments. To maintain compatibility, Martini is in line with Freedesktop.org standards including mime-spec, icon-theme, and thumbnail-spec.
Martini is compact and fast and does not rely on any Desktop Environment facilities. This allows it to work seamlessly with different DEs like Gnome, KDE, or Enlightenment. It also has an integrated image thumbnailer and can make use of external thumbnailer helper.
Martini makes the mount process of any storage device transparent to the user. Connecting any device like a USB-stick makes it appear in the go-to menu. If a device is not yet mounted, then pmount is executed transparently. The program uses HAL to find file systems attached to the system, even unmounted and not listed in the fstab file.
The program's image thumbnailer engine can apply a themed border to the miniature, as displayed on the screenshots section. The thumbnails are Freedesktop compliant, and the program uses FAM to monitor any changes made on the filesystem.
Martini supports primary Linux-style copy/paste operations, and if you select some file and press the mouse middle button in another directory, the selected file will be copied to the new location. In summary, Martini is an all-inclusive tool for file management that has been designed to fit the diverse needs of every user.
