mediaCenter is a software startup for multimedia computers, that uses a single configuration file for its setup.
To configure mediaCenter, simply navigate to ${HOME}/.mediacenter/config.xml. If no parameters are set, the default settings will be taken from ${PREFIX}/mediaCenter/config.xml. Note that using the default settings may result in missing button images or incorrectly executed paths.
To use mediaCenter, you will need to meet the following requirements: gtkmm 2.4.2 and libxml2 2.6.0. Once you have met these requirements, you can install mediaCenter using the following steps:
1. Cd' to the directory containing the package's source code and type `./configure' to configure the package for your system. If using `csh' on an old version of System V, type `sh ./configure' instead. Running `configure' may take some time and will print messages telling you which features it is checking for.
2. After configuring, type `make' to compile the package.
3. Optionally, type `make check' to run any self-tests that come with the package.
4. Type `make install' to install the programs, data files and documentation.
5. To remove the program binaries and object files from the source code directory, type `make clean'. To remove the files created by `configure', type `make distclean'. The `make maintainer-clean' target is also available, but is mainly intended for developers.
In summary, mediaCenter is a simple and easy-to-use software that enables quick configuration of multimedia stations. It requires gtkmm 2.4.2 and libxml2 2.6.0 and can be installed through a series of simple steps.
