MiMMS software enables downloading of streams via MMS protocol and saving them to computer.
MiMMS was initially derived from the last active version of mmsclient which had been left unmaintained for years. The project started with the aim of fixing existing bugs and extending the program's existing functionality. The latest MiMMS 2.x version no longer shares any code with mmsclient, and instead of relying on the original program, it utilizes libmms, a new library based on the mmsclient code from xine-improved. This new library allows multiple implementations of MMS clients while maintaining a unified code base.
Thanks to the libmms library, MiMMS is now free from the complexities of the MMS protocol and can focus on providing a more optimal user experience. To use MiMMS, you need to have libmms, Qt4, and wget (for downloading http:// URLs like ASX files).
The latest release of MiMMS allows for the use of filename arguments, which were previously ignored due to a bug. Overall, this release has improved the program's ease of use and functionality.
